MSmith21@doc.gov. The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) has a
requirement for an 8(a) Contractor to do building and office
alterations within the DOC's Herbert C. Hoover Building (HCHB) at 14th
& Constitution Ave., N. W., Washington, DC 20230. This requirement was
previously advertized in the "U.S. Department of Commerce Forecast of
Contract Opportunities," and is currently listed on the DOC Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization web site located at
(www.osec.doc.gov/osdbu). The contract primarily involves remodeling
existing offices within the HCHB (SIC Code 1542) on and Indefinite
Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) basis. The work generally consists
of several small delivery orders for items such as partitions,
painting, electrical and carpentry work. The average delivery order
amount under this IDIQ contract is approximately $2,000. The estimated
range is between $300,000 through $900,000 annually, and includes one
base year and four additional option years. The Government will
conduct a competitive 8(a) Set-aside procurement to meet this
requirement. Those firms that have previously provided a Capability
Statement to DOC's Acquisition Services Division, in response to the
Contract Forecast, need not respond again to this notice. Other 8(a)
firms desiring a copy of the solicitation must submit a written request
for the solicitation, to the Contracting Officer, Michael Smith, in one
of the following ways: (1) submit an electronic request to the e-mail
address below (this is the preferred method); (2) fax a request to

Michael Smith/Room: 6516, 1401 Constitution Ave., N. W., Washington, DC
20230. In addition, questions related to the solicitation may be
provided to the Contracting Officer in the same fashion. It is
anticipated that the solicitation will be released approximately 30
days after this notice, and proposals will then be due approximately 45
days afterwards. There is no additional information available at this
time, so telephone requests will not be honored. Potential Contractors
are also advised to contact only the Contracting Officer in regarding
