CAIS BUS STANDARD INDUSTRY MEETING A CAIS Industry Conference has been scheduled for 25 June 1997 between the Common Airborne Instrumentation System Joint Program Office (CAIS JPO) and industry. The primary focus will be the CAIS Road Map. The conference will address the performance based acquisition strategy and the CAIS Bus Interface Control Document (ICD). Interested parties should forward their organization, name, and social security number to Megan Russell by 18 June 1997. The conference will be unclassified. A copy of the CAIS Bus ICD is now available on the CAIS website (www.nawcad.navy.mil/cais). If your firm does not have internet access, please request a copy of the ICD from Sid Jones, Lead Engineer or Megan Russell, Contract Specialist. You may also fax a request to their attention. Please respond with comments by 6 June 1997 to Sid Jones; they can be mailed, faxed or emailed. Any comments on this document would be appreciated. The CAIS Bus ICD (Revision A Draft) is a design document intended for vendors to design new controllers and DAU's. It is NOT a reference document on how an individual DAU operates on the Bus. Some controllers/DAU's may only implement a subset of the ICD.
