D -- INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES SOL HQ-97-13 POC Robert Richards, 202/514-4573 The Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) of the Department of Justice will release a draft request for proposal (DRFP) on June 30, 1997, for the Service Technology Alliance Resources (STARS). The INS will also conduct an industry conference to discuss aspects of this program and draft solicitation on July 21, 1997. STARS is an on-going requirement for Information Technology services, supporting INS operations worldwide. The services required under the STARS program include systems engineering and integration; systems maintenance and sustaining engineering; program management and administration; systems management; communications and electronics systems activities; end user services; strategic and tactical planning; security; and independent verification and validation. Electronic Data Systems Corporation (EDS) currently provides these services under a program known as the Information Technology Partnership (ITP), Contract No. COW-4-C-0018. Formal responses to the DRFP will be required by July 28, 1997. The industry conference will be conducted on July 21, 1997 (1:00 through 4:00 p.m.), at the Fairview Park Marriott, 3111 Fairview Park Drive, Falls Church, Virginia 22046.
