The Department of Veterans Affairs has a requirement for the purchase, delivery, and installation of a Commercial automatic four-station combination spreader-feeding machine capable of feeding small and large pieces through the feeding device into the flatwork ironer and the combination folder-cross-folder/stacker conveyor. Each station will be equipped with counters. Spreader-feeding machine shall be capable of meeting ironer production requirements of 1310 sheets per hour, 1080 pillow cases per hour, 971 -- 36x36 inch double thickness cotton surgical wrappers, 1439 -- 24x24 inch double thickness cotton surgical wrappers. The machines shall be equipped with an illuminating emergency stop button (colored red) inter-locked with the entire ironing system, and when activated shall render the entire ironing system inoperable. Additional requirements and specifications do apply, and a site visit is highly encouraged. However, this information is provided to inform potential Offerors of the minimum capability required from each unit. The VA anticipates award of a contract with delivery and installation completed within 60 days after award.
