NASA Langley Research Center plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for Modifications to the 1/2 Meter Quiet Tunnel Air System, Building 1247D, West Area, NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, Va. The work includes but is not limited to, removal and replacement of an air manifold assembly including replacement of existing thredolet/weldolet fittings, complete weld replacements, weld repairs, 100 percent radiography, hydrostatic testing, gasket replacements, painting, and re-installation. The Contractor will furnish all tools, equipment, services and materials to complete the proposed effort. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 1711 and 7.0 million, respectively, The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO C2. The anticipated release date of RFQ 1-130-GGK 1473 is on or about June 5, 1998 with an anticipated quote due date of on or about June 25, 1998. The firm date for receipt of offers will be stated in the RFQ. Drawings will be available from the Bid Distribution Office 757-864-2547. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [ with the exception of Drawings] will be available over the Internet.
