supplies, material, supervision, transportation, equipment, and all
else necessary to to install an Automatic Fire Detection System
(FM-200) and Clean Air Fire Extinguishing System at the Air Force Angel
Peak Communication Site. This site is located approximately 20 miles
northwest of Las Vegas NV and is in a relatively remote, restricted
area; contractor personnel may be required to be escorted during
performance. The entire detection and extinguishing system shall be
manufactured and supplied by the same source. All equipment shall
perform as a complete self-contained and fully automatic fire detecting
and extinguishing system. The contractor shall have a minimum of 15
years experience in the installation and testing of halon and/or FM-200
fire suppression systems installed expressly for the protection of
sensitive electronic equipment. The design contractor shall have a
minimum of 5 years experience in the design of halon and/or FM200 fire
suppression systems manufactured expressly for the protection of
sensitive electronic equipment. The superintendent and installers shall
be certified on the equipment being installed and regularly employed by
the contractor. The estimated dollar value of this project is between
$25,000 and $100,000 with a performance period of 90 calendar days. The
applicable SIC for this acquisition is 1731 with a three year average
annual small business (SB) size standard of $7 million and emerging
small business (ESB) size standard of $3.5 million. It is anticipated
that the proposed contract listed here will be restricted to ESB
concerns; however, all firms are requested to respond to this notice if
interested in bidding. If a sufficient number of qualified ESB firms do
not respond, the solicitation will be issued as unrestricted. It is
anticipated that the solicitation will be issued o/a 5 Aug 1998.
