Forest Service, Coronado National Forest, Douglas Ranger District, Cochise County, Arizona, is soliciting bids for the Portal Road Paving Project. Project involves placing contractor furnished aggregate base and asphalt paving on a portion of FDR-42 in Cochise County. The subgrade has been prepared. The contractor will fine-grade and place fabric on the subgrade and place concrete curb along both sides of asphalt. The contract also includes placing a seal coat of emulsified asphalt on this section plus other sections totaling about 1.8 miles. Contract time is estimated at 55 calender days. Work is to be performed between September 1, 1998 and February 1, 1999. Price range is between $100,000 and $250,000. Plans and Specifications will be available on or before August 10, 1998.
