Most of the existing ductwork in the building will be cleaned and re-used; the remaining ductwork will be replaced with new larger ductwork. All steam and condensate piping within the building will be replaced. The new steam system will be consolidated to serve two heat exchangers and two water heaters in the basement. Work will include replacement of the condensate receivers. Work includes the removal of all steam convectors and unit heaters throughout the building. Steam convectors will be replaced with hot water baseboard or with a ventilation system with reheat coils for temperature control. An option to the construction contract will be for the replacement of domestic water piping andrenovation of restrooms throughout the building. The project includes the abatement of asbestos to perform the above work.
