This submission represents a modification to submission #342545, dated 14 June 1999, to allow for further exchanges of information with industry before issuance of the request for proposal (RFP). Consistent with 48 CFR 15.201, the Fleet and Industrial Supply Center San Diego (FISCSD) intends to host a presolicitation conference in the San Diego metropolitan area during the week of 12 July 1999. The main purpose of the conference is to facilitate greater understanding of BOM/ATE support processes, thereby allowing small business concerns to judge whether or how they can satisfy the requirement. The secondary purpose of the conference is to enable source selection officials to identify and resolve concerns regarding the acquisition strategy, including the anticipated 100% small buiness set-aside and related source selection criteria. In preparation of the conference, small business concerns should refer to the FISCSD web site (www.sd.fisc.navy.mil) for a list of suggested topics, which should be posted no later than 22 June 1999. Small business concerns interested in attending the pre-solicitation conference are requested to contact the Contract Specialist no later than 02 July 1999 to schedule an individual appointment. Due to the sensitive nature of source selection information being exchanged during the conference, attendees are directed to 48 CFR 3.104. As such, the Contract Specialist will schedule no more than one small business concern for each appointment, unless specifically requested in writing by the small business concern(s) for purposes of teaming.
