The work, in general, consists of replacing all the existing water service lines from the main to the 496 housing units in the Capehart area. This includes a new saddle tap on the main, piping, valve box, valve, and backflow preventer for every housing unit. Some piping loops between mains sized at 4" and below will also be replaced as shown on the drawings. The contractor shall be required to bore under roads and driveways. The above general description of work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the contractor to perform all work and furnish all labor, equipment, and materials complete in accordance with the specifications. Bid closing date of 09 Sep 1999 IS ONLY AN ESTIMATED DATE. Estimated dollar range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
