Z -- SPRINKLER HEAD REPLACEMENT SOL 541-080-00 DUE 070700 POC Jeanelle Wright, Contract Specialist, (440) 838-6091 Contractor shall replace all Omega sprinkler heads on the basement floor, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th floors at the Louis Stokes Cleveland, Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 10701 East Boulevard, Cleveland, Ohio 44106 due to a recent recall of these sprinklers. The sprinkler heads are located throughout the Medical Center in a sporadic nature and one room may have ten (10) heads with only one (Omega) to be replaced. The VAMC shall supply new heads, adapters, extensions and escutcheons. The Contractor shall supply all labor, tools and other materials needed to complete the demo and install of approx. 740 sprinkler heads. Contractor shall work weekends, and on 2nd and 3rd shifts and be prepared to stop and start work as directed by VAMC staff in order to minimize interference and to accommodate Medical, Nursing and Administrative staff in sensitive areas including, but not limited to: Surgery and related areas, Intensive Care areas, Emergency room, Medical Clinics, Psychiatric Wards, Medical Wards, etc. Estimated cost of construction is between $25,000-$100,000 and contract completion time is 90 calendar days after the Notice To Proceed. Contractor shall complete work and restore sprinkler system to fully operational condition by 4:00 p.m. local time. All removed sprinkler heads and appurtenances shall be turned over to the VAMC. This project is set aside for 100% small business and the Standard Industry Classification (SIC) is 1711.
