This procurement is restricted to eligible 8(a) participants located in New York, Region II, and New Jersey. The SIC Code is 1795 with a size standard of $11.5 million. The estimated construction cost of the project is $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. Description of Work: The New York District is seeking a firm-fixed price contract for the demolition, removal, and disposal of seven (7) buildings: Dispatch Office/Garage (Single story L-shaped building consisting of 21 bays, each bay approximately 20' wide by 50' long); Motor Repair Shop (Single story with mezzanine, approximately 80' wide by 120' long); General Maintenance Shops and Administration (Single story with mezzanine, approximately 200' wide by 600' long) and; Four (4) General Warehouse buildings (Single story buildings, each approximately 200' wide by 600' long). Each building will be raised level to its existing on-grade concrete floor. The workentails removal and disposal of Asbestos Containing Building Material, including: Asbestos Pipe Insulation; removal and disposal of Liquid Filled Type Transformer; Light Fixtures; Fluorescent Bulbs; and High Intensity Discharge Bulbs. Each building's walls and roof is constructed with building material that contains asbestos. All buildings contain one or more of the following: Asbestos Pipe Insulation, Asbestos Vinyl Floor Tiles, and /or Asbestos Ceiling Tiles. Due to the age of the buildings, it is assumed that all the buildings have been painted with Lead Based Paint. The work includes the testing for PCBs and the removal and disposal of ballast for fluorescent light fixtures in each building and the testing and removal and disposal of one liquid type transformer (approximately 50 KVA). The Completion time is 180 calendar days. Plans and Specifications (Specs) will be available on or around 8 August 2000. The NON-Refundable cost for Plans and Specs is $38.00.
