ASSOCIATION OF OLD CROWS INFORMATION ASSURANCE CONFERENCE The Association of Old Crows will be sponsoring a SECRET, US Only conference on Information Assurance on September 12-13, 2000 at the Army Research Laboratory, Adelphi, Maryland. The conference chairman and keynote speaker will be LTG Peter M. Cuviello, USA, Director of Information Systems for C4. LTG Robert Noonan, USA, Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence will keynote the second day. The theme will be "Information Assurance Readiness Review and IA Force Protection Program Assessment." Mr. Phillip Loranger will present remarks concerning the DoD Classification Guide for IA. There will be four sessions addressing distinct topics. The Military session will discuss DoD Information Assurance Program components, strategy/implementation and status of readiness. The chairman will be LTC Krist, Director, IA, DISC4. Topics include: IA Efforts (OSD/Services); NSIP (Army); ET&A (Services & Joint Staff); technology shortfalls (CECOM); Installation Status Reports (USA Audit Agency).The Industry session will discuss the state of industry's commitment to COTS solutions for protection of government and commercial networks. The chairman will be Syd Martin, CEO, SYTEX. Topics include: Science and Technology efforts; R&D (Program Investments/trends); and presentations by industry experts to discuss the threat and their solutions. The INTEL/IO OPS session will discuss the state-of-the-art technologies/concepts for detecting, responding and defeating threats and attacks to U.S. IT and C4 systems. The chairman will be MG John Thomas, CG, USA Intelligence Center. Topics include presentations on CAN; Collection; DARPA; NRO; NSC efforts; National Security Council; COMSEC Monitoring (NSA/FBI); and LIWA. The R&D session will discuss the state of NDI research, COTS & GOTS modifications and emerging technology applications to enhance IA solutions. Also addressed will be the methods and processes, goals and objectives to achieve FDD, Army transformation and IA and VA Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP) solutions. The chairman will be Robert Doto, Director, Intelligence and IW, RDEC, CECOM. Topics include; R&D IA Tool (ASD); IA and VA; DARPA; biometrics; Product Analysis; and Method E Process. In addition, there will be several short subjects to include: Classification Issues -- IA/IO; CJSI-6510 -- DoD IA Program; USMA -- IA ROI Effort; and a Biometrics Program Update.
