- The Air Armament Center, Eglin AFB, FL, intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed price contract for Medical Waste Disposal. This is combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items and services prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement and associated attachments constitutes the only solicitation; a proposal is being requested and a separate written request for proposal shall not be issued. The solicitation number for this announcement is F08651-01-R-0006. Performance requires the contractor to provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and services necessary for the storage, pickup, transportation, and disposal of packaged medical waste generated from the Eglin AFB Hospital, Eglin AFB, Florida. This requirement is for three separate line items. Line Item 0001 is for a fixed price per pound of an estimated 90,000 pounds of medical waste generated annually. Medical waste shall be picked up on a weekly basis, during normal business hours. Normal business hours are from 0730 to 1600, Monday through Friday excluding Federal Holidays. Line Item 0002 is for a contractor supplied fully enclosed, lockable mini-storage building for the collection and temporary storage of medical waste. The contractor shall provide locks and keys. The contractor shall also provide approved medical waste containers for the storage and transportation of medical waste in accordance with Florida Department of Health and Department of Transportation regulations. Item 0003 is for a fixed price per call for emergency collection service. The basic performance period will be from 1 Feb 01 through 31 Jan 02, plus four one-year option periods. All services provided in this announcement shall be subject to the attached solicitation, statement of work, and wage determination available on the Federal Business Opportunities web site at www.eps.gov by searching on the solicitation number F08651-01-R-0006. The above general description of work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the contractor to perform all work and furnish all plant, labor, equipment, and materials complete in accordance with the specifications. The place of performance for this service shall be 96 MDSS/SGSLF, 307 Boatner Rd. Suite 114, Eglin AFB, FL 32542, no later than 30 days after receipt of order on an FOB Destination basis. Estimated dollar range is between $25K and $100K for each year and $100K and $250 K for the entire 5-year period. Any subsequent award will be based on Full and Open Competition. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this acquisition is 562219; small business size standard: $10 million.
