Description
The Tri-Service Environmental Service Center Commanders Committee (TSESCCC) is hosting the Fourth Tri-Service Environmental Technology Symposium, June 18-20, 2001, Town and Country Hotel, San Diego, California. The central theme, "Environmental Technology: Support the Mission, Sustain the Environment," symbolizes the military's continued emphasis on protecting resources, while maintaining readiness, supporting military operations, installation management, and material development. This is an unclassified Symposium. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Department of Defense personnel, as well as other Federal agencies, Federal contractors, academia, and industry are invited to attend. Papers addressing Environmental Technology issues are being solicited for the Symposium. A limited number of posters and exhibits will be accepted. Papers may be submitted from Government, industry, and academia. Submitted papers should address mature technologies that are either "field ready" or currently being demonstrated, or have been demonstrated and are ready to be fielded to the broader community. Other topics associated with environmental technologies are encouraged. Sample Topics include: Environmental Projects Implemented with Tri-Service Approach; Military Training/Contingency Operations; Weapon Systems Acquisition; Range/Training Area Sustainment in All Climates; Range Rule; Decision Support Tools, Modeling; Cost and Performance, Case Studies; Life Cycle Approaches to Remediation; Long-Term Monitoring/Remedial Action Operations; Long-term Management of Cleanup Records; Risk Assessment, Bioavailability Studies Used in Cleanups; Bioremediation, Natural Attenuation; Sediment Remediation; Regulatory Changes; MTBE; UXO; Mixed Wastes; Recycle and Reuse; Innovative Contracting Strategies; and 5-Year Reviews. (These topics are representative and are not meant to restrict presentations or participants.) A limited amount of exhibits addressing Environmental Technologies are being solicited for inclusion in the 2001 Tri-Service Environmental Technology Symposium Program. Government exhibits should address those technologies that actively involve the organization. Private vendors may exhibit provided environmental technologies are presented that would be of interest to the Government. Please access the Symposium website (www.ets-2001.com) for additional information regarding abstract submittal, exhibits, registration and accommodations. Early submission of abstracts and exhibit requests is strongly recommended due to limited space.
