- Description
- The intent of this synopsis is to obtain the Construction of a Lightning Protection System by means of a Firm-Fixed Price Contract (FFP). The solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis. Replies are requested from all business concerns. The anticipated magnitude of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000 for the total contract. Work includes, but is not limited to the following: Install lightning protection for two munition parking pads at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC. System shall be Catanery system which shall be consist of overhead wires, steel poles and grounding. Install underground loop conductor around pad. Spare parts: Contractor shall provide the following spare parts to the government: 24 Air terminal, 12_ copper point, 24_ height. 200 copper cable fastener. 50 copper strap ridge point base. 10 gallon of adhesive. Sealant shall be 3M 847 or approved equal. 500 ft of copper conductor. Conductor shall be 28 strand of 14 gauge bare copper wire in basket weave configuration. The contract performance period is 90 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed. Multiple awards will not be made as a result of this solicitation. The Government reserves the right to award a contract to other than the low proposed price. Only one proposal may be submitted by each offeror. Offerors should submit proposals that are acceptable solely on the basis of the initial offer. The Government may proceed with award of the contract without further discussion. However, the Government may request additional information from offerors that it considers to have a reasonable chance of being selected for contract award, and may discuss proposals with offerors. The Government will evaluate all proposals. Solicitations will be available on or about 23 Apr 01. Interested parties must download all solicitation documents from the FedBizOpps web site (www.eps.gov). All proposals must include a telephone number, full mailing address with nine (9) digit zip code, and current business classification (ex: Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, etc._). All proposals are due to the Contracting Office by close of business (4:30 PM) on or about 7 May 01. The specific date and time will be specified in the solicitation.
