Description

The Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB), Albany, Contracts Department, is seeking to locate sources for Integrated Supply Chain Management to ensure uninterrupted industrial supply support for both Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) as well as Metric type items to the Maintenance Centers, Albany, Georgia and Barstow, California. Support shall include but not be limited to: forecasting vendor requirements based on government established supply levels; requisitioning items of supply; receiving and inspecting packages for quality and completeness; conducting technical research to determine obsolescence, interchangeability, and substitutability; and maintaining optimal supply levels based on usage. A contract with a base term of one year plus four one-year options is contemplated. This notice is issued with the condition that these requirements are subject to change at any time, are in no way binding to the Government, and are not to be considered final requirements. This notice is provided for informational purposes only, with the understanding that the Government is under no obligation of any kind to proceed with an acquisition in any way related to the data set forth in this notice. However, if the Government decides to proceed with issuance of a formal Request for Proposals for a competitive procurement this will be the only CBD notice for potential offerors. Potential offerors are advised that the Government is considering multiple acquisition strategies for this requirement, to include approaches such as use of GSA Federal Supply Schedule contracts and other existing contractual vehicles. The Government is not requesting any potential suppliers of the subject requirement to incur any expense of any kind in connection with their review and any response to this notice, nor will any written response provided hereto constitute services or any other basis upon which to seek payment, reimbursement, or consideration from the Government. This market survey (notice) is not intended as a solicitation for a proposal and any submission of an unsolicited proposal based on this notice will not be given consideration. The cutoff date for responses is 4 May 2001. It is planned that if a formal RFP is issued, it will be posted on the MCLB/Albany (www.ala.usmc.mil ) and Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO)(www.neco.navy.mil ) websites on or about 10 May 2001.
