Description

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is conducting a Sources Sought/Request for Information to identify the availability of sources to provide an industrial cleaner that contains no more than 10% Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). The Bureau desires to find a cleaner with the lowest VOCs possible and that can meet the Bureau_s needs. The cleaner may contain regulated and non-regulated VOCs suitable for removing wet and dry intaglio inks from currency printing presses and gravure inks from postage stamp printing presses and other high-speed manufacturing and processing equipment. A draft performance specification may be down loaded from the FedBizOpps internet site at (www.eps.gov). This Sources Sought/Request for Information is issued to: 1. Identify potential sources with the capability of manufacturing an industrial cleaner in accordance with the attached specification; 2. Identify potential sources who can offer an industrial cleaner that can meet the BEPs requirements in the commercial marketplace at established catalog or market prices; 3. Promote an early exchange of information between potential sources and the BEP concerning this requirement. Respondents to this notice may provide technical information to include Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs), commercial pricing, and other information that may describe how a potential source_s product may meet the BEP_s requirement. This announcement is not a formal solicitation and is not a Request for Proposal or Invitation for Bid. No contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs to provide information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government.
