Description

Eglin AFB FL has a requirement to Replace HVAC System, Ben's Lake Housing. THIS IS A "TRADE-OFF" (PERFORMANCE PRICE TRADE-OFF) ACQUISITION. Award will be made based upon the "Best Value" to the Government in accordance with FAR 15.3. The Government reserves the right to award a contract to other than the lowest proposed price. This project includes furnishing all plant, labor, equipment and materials and performing all operations in connection with Replacing HVAC System, Ben's Lake Housing, Eglin AFB FL. In general, the work includes replacing the HVAC units and water heater in Military Family Housing (Ben's Lake) units. Also, remove all the hazardous panels in mechanical rooms from floor and walls and accomplish finish work as required. All work in each unit is to be accomplished in one working day -- up to 12 hours. The above general description of work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the contractor to perform all work and furnish all labor, materials and equipment complete in accordance with the plans and specifications. There is a base bid of 150 units plus 2 options of 43 units each. The work is located on main base area of Eglin AFB FL Proposal due date of 31 AUGUST 2001 IS ONLY AN ESTIMATED DATE. Estimated dollar range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Performance period for base bid is 210 calendar days, with each option for 60 calendar days. Total performance period including options is 330 calendar days. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. This is a paperless acquisition. Paper copies of the solicitation will not be issued but the Request for Proposal will be available on the Federal Government's Electronic Posting System (www.eps.gov). See Note 26.
